Tom Noonan, the president and chief executive officer of Internet Security Systems (ISS), has been elected to the national board of directors of AeA, the nation’s largest high-tech trade association.

Formerly the American Electronics Association, AeA has more than 3,000 member companies and is dedicated to advancing the business of technology through advocacy, education and services.

Noonan will attend the next AeA board meeting June 14-16 in Washington, DC, to discuss the organization’s new strategic objectives and set the organization’s public policy priorities.

“Tom Noonan is a very successful and talented executive,” said Mike Levin, executive director of the AeA’s SE Council. “We welcome the opportunity to benefit from his vast knowledge of technology and wealth of business experience.”

As an AeA board member, Noonan will support the association’s mission to promote American leadership in high-technology manufacturing and services and serve as “the voice of the U.S. high-tech community.”

Atlanta-based ISS has been an active corporate member of AeA since 1999 at the regional level through AeA’s Southeast Council, which services high-tech companies in and throughout the region and represents their interests in the local, county and state governments.
