The MIT Enterprise Forum of Atlanta will present an interactive case study and panel discussion on Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) at Georgia Tech on Feb. 17.

“As VoIP technology matures, traditional communications businesses are increasingly threatened,” said Mark Braunstein, local chairman of the MIT Forum. “With the convergence of voice and data, new capabilities can be offered to enhance the communications experience of end-users, and reduce expenditures by businesses.”

Keynoting the discussion, entitled “VoIP: Fad or Threat?,” will be Bill Smith, the chief technology officer of BellSouth. The case study company is i2 Telecom, a VoIP provider based in Atlanta.

The event is in LeCraw Auditorium at Georgia Tech’s DuPree College of Management in Atlanta. Dinner begins at 5:30 PM and the program at 7 PM. Cost to Forum members is $20, pre-registered non-members will pay $30, and pre-registered students $10. All on-site registrants will pay $35.
