Sprint has signed a marketing and sales agreement with EchoStar Communications Corp. to provide its Dish Network satellite TV service to households served by the company’s local telephone division.

The relationship formalizes a joint effort in place since late last year with EchoStar, allowing Sprint to offer customers digital television programming as part of a portfolio of communications services, that includes local, long distance, wireless, DSL and video.

Within 90 days, Sprint and EchoStar say they expect to offer a bundle of services with one bill and one point of contact for the customer.

“Aligning Sprint with EchoStar gives us the final element to offer a total suite of communication and entertainment products and services,” said Michael Fuller, president of Sprint’s Local Telephone Division. “Sprint continues to lead the way, providing our customers with the savings and convenience that comes from receiving several services from one trustworthy and proven company.”

Sprint will package EchoStar’s Dish Network services with its Solutions and DSL bundles in 18 states where Sprint is the local telephone company, including North Carolina.
