Indus International, a provider of service delivery management (SDM) solutions, has promoted John Gregg to executive vice president of field operations.

Gregg most recently served as president of the Indus Utility Systems business unit. He held this position since Indus’ acquisition of the business from Systems & Computer Technology Corporation (SCT) on March 5, 2003. He was also president of the business unit at SCT.

In his new role, Gregg will be responsible for the domestic field sales organization, worldwide professional services, sales operations, sales support, alliances, and the newly formed SDM business unit.

Heading the new SDM unit and reporting to Gregg is Ashok Samuel, former president and CEO of Wishbone Systems, the workforce management and optimization software provider acquired by Atlanta-based Indus in January.

“Working with John over the past year, I have been extremely impressed with his business acumen, integrity and focus on customer/employee relations,” said Indus President and CEO Greg Dukat. “I believe he is the right man to head our field operations as Indus becomes a world leader in (SDM).”

Prior to being named president of SCT Global Energy and Utilities Solutions in December 2000, Gregg held positions at SCT as VP of strategic business development and VP of marketing.

Gregg began his career at South Carolina Electric & Gas (SCE&G) in 1970 in the information systems department. From there he went on to be chief operations officer of SCANA Software Corp. He later returned to SCE&G, where he held the positions of chief information officer and VP of marketing and economic development.
