The Revere Group has expanded its technology services to incorporate a merger of onshore and offshore capabilities by agreeing to acquire SSPL, a technology consulting firm based in Bangalore, India.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Together, the companies will offer development, implementation, and maintenance of custom and packaged applications, including PeopleSoft, Lawson, Oracle, and Microsoft Business Solutions.
“The combination of our firms — The Revere Group and SSPL — is the best of all worlds,” says Michael Horne, managing director of The Revere Group’s southeast region in Charlotte. “Our clients need strong local support — and The Revere Group has a superlative reputation for these skills. At the same time, clients need skilled development resources that can rapidly deliver reliable, high-value solutions. By employing resources — in the US and India — we can fulfill that requirement, too.”
The acquisition of SSPL, which will close on or about Feb. 14, will result in the creation of a technology services offering called “Revere O4.” This new offering has four complementary components: onsite consulting, offsite services, offshore services, and outsourcing.
The Revere Group has a broad customer base across many industries, including consumer and business services, financial services and insurance, government, healthcare, and manufacturing and distribution.
Employing 300 people, The Revere Group has four other offices besides Charlotte, including Chicago, Milwaukee, Boston, and Orlando. Now with the SSPL merger, it has an additional offshore development center in Bangalore.
“We like to think of this as a win-win-win outcome: our clients profit because they get literally the best solution available in the world today,” Horne says, “Our employees in our five U.S. offices win, because now they are part of a larger, global team; and our Indian employees gain through increased access to the world’s largest economy.”
