Mike Jamiolkowski, the founder and chief executive officer of Coventor, has been appointed to the Governing Council of the MEMS Industry Group (MIG).

The announcement was made Tuesday at the MEMS 2004 Conference in Masstricht, The Netherlands.

MIG, based in Pittsburgh, PA, is the primary industry association serving the commercial micro-electro mechanical systems (MEMS) technology marketplace.

Jamiolkowski will fill one of the Governing Council’s 13 seats, which are currently filled by executives from Honeywell, Intel, Samsung and Texas Instruments among others.

The membership-based MIG provides industry reports and statistics, news, event information and other MEMS related resources for the industry.

Coventor is based in Cary and provides a suite of software development tools targeting MEMS, microfluidics and semiconductor process applications. Its industry standard platform is known as CoventorWare.
