Verso Technologies has inked a $4 million contract with TelePassport Hellas (TPH), Greece’s largest private sector fixed telephony services carrier, to upgrade their existing Clarent infrastructure.

The upgrade, which comes on top of a $3 million network expansion TPH began with Verso last year, provides increased call processing capacity in all existing Points of Presence (POP) and provisioning of new POPs.

TPH will deploy the new Clarent BHG 2500 media gateways and Clarent Class 4 Call Manager software to provide intelligent interfaces between IP and PSTN (public switched telephony networks) networks.

Under terms of the new contract with Atlanta-based Verso, the software and hardware is expected to be delivered to TPH in the first quarter of 2004.
