Coventor has signed a licensing deal with Canadian semiconductor and electronics system provider Dalsa Semiconductor, a division of Dalsa Corp. in Quebec.

Dalsa Semiconductor will license the CoventorWare software for use in providing Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) product design and development services that support its MEMS foundry services operations.

Additionally, Cary-based Coventor and Dalsa plan to produce component libraries and MEMS building blocks, which will later be made available as standard templates within the CoventorWare software suite.

“We are very pleased with this development,” said Dave Cook, Coventor’s vice president of sales. “Dalsa Semiconductor is a well-established semiconductor company and has attracted numerous high-profile clients to their MEMS foundry operation. We believe this alliance will be highly synergistic, and will allow DALSA to provide industry-leading services to its customers.”
