Sprint has filed suit against BellSouth in federal court because of the company’s actions relative to caller name delivery.

Tom Matthews, spokesman for Sprint, says the company is seeking in excess of $20 million in damages.

“BellSouth recently stopped providing the names of callers whose name information is in Sprint’s database, including our local and wireless customers, to their ‘Caller ID with Name’ subscribers,” Matthews says, “which we believe breaches an existing contract between Sprint and BellSouth.”
