Southern LINC, the wireless communications service from Southern Company, has launched its Education Network, created to connect school personnel.

The company says its Education Network uses Instant LINC two-way radio to connect education professionals and related vendors whose objective is often to communicate quickly and efficiently to keep students safe.

“Southern LINC’s wireless network enables schools to reliably communicate information to key officials in a crisis situation or in day-to-day conversations,” said Bob Dawson, president and CEO of Southern LINC. “Our Education Network enables a wide variety of school staff members, from administrators to bus divers to maintenance crews to teachers and everyone in between, to have instant and consistent communications.”

The network is also open to vendors who frequently communicate with school staff, such as food providers. Many school systems and educational facilities throughout the Southeast already are using the wireless service provided by Southern LINC.
