RBC Centura Banks says it has relocated its Georgia regional operations to the Centergy at Technology Square building as part of its continued expansion in this market.
A full-service retail bank branch will open on the ground level of the office building in late January. The Rocky Mount, NC-based bank already has 20 branches in the Atlanta area, but this is the first for midtown.
Approximately 100 employees will relocate to the corporate office space RBC Centura leased in the Centergy building; another five to seven employees will work in the bank branch upon completion.
The new location will enable RBC Centura to centralize its management and support functions for Georgia, the company says, as well as provide regional offices for Canadian parent RBC Financial Group’s other U.S. subsidiaries that are moving toward launching or increasing their presence in this market.
“The relocation of our Georgia corporate functions to midtown Atlanta underscores our long-term commitment to this vibrant market,” said Ron Day, president of RBC Centura’s operations in Georgia. “This logical ‘next step’ in our expansion plans affords us significant opportunities to boost client service and convenience–. As well, the consolidation and relocation of our Georgia corporate operations to one building will enable us to reduce overhead costs, which we expect will ultimately be translated into new jobs to support these ambitious growth objectives.”
The U.S. arm of RBC Insurance has already launched a co-location initiative with RBC Centura, and is examining opportunities in this market as well.
