Healthcare IT (HIT) and Patient Care Technology Systems (PCTS) of Aliso Viejo, CA, have formed a strategic partnership to bring their emergency department information system (EDIS) solutions and services to hospital emergency rooms.

The companies say they will now offer hospitals seeking to adopt electronic medical records for their emergency departments, the benefits of HIT’s passive tracking intelligence with the clinical decision support of PCTS’ Amelior ED patient care system.

“When a company with the quality products and management of PCTS incorporates our capabilities into their system, you are seeing proof that passive tracking is becoming an integral part of managing patient flow,” said Tony Marsico, CEO of HIT. “We focus on passive tracking, and we look for first-class companies such as PCTS to work with on bringing those capabilities to market.”

The nature of the agreement encompasses the coordination of sales and marketing, product development and implementation activities on a national basis.
