Jonathan Smith, one of the co-founders of AlphaVax, is the firm’s new chief science officer.
Smith, who has a PhD, has been the vice president of discovery for three years. He now will be responsible for research and development as well.

Smith was a vaccinologist at the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases, heading the viral biology department, before joining AlphaVax.
