Inovis, a provider of business commerce automation services, has named Hatem El-Sebaaly as the company’s vice president of technology.

Previously, El-Sebaaly was chief technology officer for IPNet Solutions, which was acquired by Inovis in July 2003. In this role, he helped define and oversee the technology and architectural plans for the IPNet BizManager suite of products.

Prior to IPNet, El-Sebaaly founded software-consulting firm Wondersoft Corp. Additionally, he has held executive-level positions at SAP, Toshiba America Medical Systems and GE Medical Systems.

At Inovis, El-Sebaaly will play a central role in driving the company’s strategy and direction relative to product and services technology, architecture and infrastructure, it says.

“Hatem brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our company,” said Ilaria Derr, Inovis’ president and chief operating officer. “He has an outstanding technical background and a track record of success in the software industry. We couldn’t be more pleased to have a person of Hatem’s qualifications spearheading our ongoing efforts to develop innovative, reliable products and services to meet the needs of our customers.”
