KnowledgeStorm, a business technology search site, recently made additions to it executive team and board of directors.

Jim Canfield joins KnowledgeStorm’s executive team as vice president of sales. He comes from, where he served in the same role.

Canfield has held various other leadership positions, including VP of sales and marketing at Idexx Laboratories, a $400 million biotech firm.

KnowledgeStorm also named LiveOak Equity Partners’ Jim Gilbert to its board of directors. Gilbert, who succeeds colleague Murali Anantharaman on the board, is currently managing partner for LiveOak, an Atlanta-based $70 million venture capital fund that has invested in KnowledgeStorm.

Previously, Gilbert held the positions of president and COO for IMNET Systems, and as senior VP and general counsel for HBO & Co. He began his career as assistant attorney general for the U.S. Dept. of Justice.

KnowledgeStorm is based in Atlanta and has raised $20.7 million since its founding in 1998. In addition to Live Oak, other investors include Apex Venture Partners, Imlay Investments, Sterling Venture Partners, and Total Technology Ventures.
