Internap Network Services Corp. and Hitachi Software Engineering America of Alameda, CA, have formed a strategic alliance to deliver videoconferencing solutions to customers in the U.S. and Asia.

The alliance brings Hitachi Software’s interactive videoconferencing solutions and integration together with Internap’s routing IP services.

Using its joint venture with Japan’s NTT Group, Internap Japan Co. Ltd., Internap and Hitachi Software will target international companies with operations on both sides of the Pacific.

Hitachi Software will also utilize Atlanta-based Internap to deliver videoconferencing services to its own network of offices internationally.

“Hitachi Software has leading-edge videoconferencing technologies, the expertise to offer integrated solutions, and a large international customer base,” said Dave Abrahamson, vice president of sales and chief marketing officer at Internap. “This alliance is consistent with our strategy to align our performance-based IP services with leading technology partners to support next-generation Internet applications.”
