James Copeland, the former chief executive officer of Deloitte & Touche in the U.S., has joined the Equifax board of directors.

With the addition of Copeland, the total number of directors at Equifax in Atlanta has increased to 10. He will serve on the Equifax board’s audit committee.

Copeland, 58, retired from Deloitte in May. During his tenure there, he guided the firm through a period of the greatest revenue growth in the firm’s history and oversaw the firm’s move from the fifth to the second-largest professional services firm in the world.

A native Georgian, Copeland has returned to live in Atlanta after ten years in New York.
