Internet Security Systems said Thursday that it is shutting down engineering operations in the United Kingdom and Australia.
ISS, a developer of network security devices, said the moves would save the company $4 million a year. The company also said it expects to add employees at its headquarters in Atlanta.
The company said the trend in security systems required a more platform-centric approach rather than a specific niche market strategy. “As a result, ISS is reorganizing and consolidating its efforts for security content, protection agent frameworks, management infrastructure, and multifunction appliance delivery to enhance operational and development efficiency,” ISS said in a statement.
