A4 Health Systems has selected converged voice, data and wireless contact center services from Sprint and Nortel Networks.

The two companies will help A4 with customer access to contact center agents and provide the high-speed communications services needed to deliver healthcare information management services to more than 1,100 physician and hospital customers nationwide.

“Collectively, Sprint and Nortel Networks solutions will provide a combination of network assets,” said David Bond, executive vice president of the A4 Ambulatory Division, “– and the business expertise to help us engage our customers, strengthen our position in the marketplace and enable better management of clinical, financial and administrative processes within every healthcare setting.”

Under a multiyear agreement, Sprint and Nortel will deliver converged voice and data services, including an Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP VPN). The converged network also will allow collaboration with applications such as unified messaging.

For A4 customer service, Nortel’s i2050 softphone will enable A4 employees to use IP telephony from their personal computers. Additionally, Sprint will provide PCS Connections Cards coupled with Nortel’s Symposium Contact Center solutions in A4 contact centers and wirelessly connect support agents to customers on weekends.
