Movaz Networks has entered a strategic relationship with Motorola to provide Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) transport and optical service delivery solutions for telecom and broadband cable network operators.
DWDM is an optical technology used to increase bandwidth over existing fiber optic backbones by combining and transmitting multiple signals simultaneously at different wavelengths on the same fiber.
Under the terms of the agreement, Motorola will market Movaz’s RAY product suite as the Motorola Multi-service Wavelength Transport (MWT) family of products to Motorola’s customers worldwide.
Motorola and Movaz also plan to collaborate on joint development activities to further expand the MWT portfolio.
The announcement was made at the USTA Telecom ’03 annual conference and exhibition in Las Vegas.
