SAS has unveiled what it calls “the next generation of self-directed instruction” through its new Self-Paced e-Learning Web catalog.
This new line of e-learning products provides access to e-learning from Cary-based SAS. The site contains individually licensed, self-paced products that enable users to access interactive Web-based SAS training directly from their desktops whenever and wherever it’s convenient.
The Self-Paced e-Learning Web catalog is interactive and designed to work with the SAS Learning Edition, or currently installed SAS software.
“Initial feedback from customers, SAS consultants and internal staff has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Nancy Goodyear, manager of e-Learning Technology at SAS. “New users were really pleased that we provided suggested learning paths and experienced users were really excited to be able to pick and choose topics that met their particular needs.”
It’s all about giving SAS customers a choice, Goodyear says.
“I think that the ability to customize their training paths, the ease of accessing the training from their desktops, and the affordability of the training,” she adds, “will enable customers who could not afford other SAS training a way to build on their current SAS skills and also move into new areas of SAS.”
Self-Paced e-Learning contains more than 60 lessons and courses, including programming topics that range from basic concepts to advanced skills in SAS macro language, certification training that covers all of the objectives tested on the SAS Certified Base Programmer exam, “An Introduction to Data Warehousing” course, and free tutorials for getting started on different SAS products and solutions.
