Market Intelligence Center has recognized RF Micro Devices as Taiwan’s leading provider of power amplifiers (PAs) for wireless handsets.

According to an August report entitled, “The Taiwanese Mobile Phone Industry, 1H 2003 and Beyond,” Market Intelligence estimated that RF Micro’s market share in Taiwan grew from 17.7 percent in the second quarter of 2002 to 56.7 percent in the second quarter of 2003, an increase of approximately 220 percent.

“The report from Market Intelligence Center underscores our growing strength in PAs, with a number-one market share in Taiwan that is more than twice the market share of the second largest competitor,” said Eric Creviston, corporate vice president of wireless products at RF Micro in Greensboro.

Creviston said he attributes RF Micro’s leadership position primarily to its PowerStar PA products and to its Taiwanese customer support team, both of which have helped to establish RF Micro as the leading PA provider in Taiwan.

“Our market share growth in Taiwan reflects a strong commitment to our customers and to the Taiwanese market, which is a valuable high-growth market for both cellular handsets and wireless LAN applications,” noted Creviston. “Furthermore, our growth from approximately 18 percent one year ago demonstrates the strength of our PA product offerings–.”
