Misys Healthcare Systems has signed an agreement to provide IT services to Rex Healthcare.

The agreement covers the acquisition, deployment and software maintenance of Misys Radiology, a radiology information system (RIS) that will integrate with Rex’s existing Picture Archive Communication System (PACS).

“We selected a RIS based on the desire to continuously increase operational efficiencies…the functionality and performance offered by Misys will allow us to achieve that goal,” said John Contrael, director of radiology services at Rex. “(Misys) — will enable Rex Healthcare to leverage our existing voice recognition and PACS investments.”

Rex Healthcare is a private, not-for-profit system that has provided care to Raleigh and the surrounding area since 1894. The hospital campus is the heart of its network of services, including a 394-bed acute care hospital, family birth center, cancer center, same day surgery, heart & vascular center and wellness center.
