Concordant has joined Oculan’s Premier Partner program to offer health care organizations a way to achieve cost-savings from their HIPAA compliance projects.

Concordant says it will wrap its own HIPAA Security services around the Oculan appliance. HIPAA stands for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, which was passed in 1996.

Concordant, the New England-based IT consulting firm, is using the Oculan 250 infrastructure security appliance to deliver a five-step “HIPAA Security Lifecycle” solution.

The core of the partnership’s HIPAA Security Compliance Lifecycle strategy is the Oculan 250, which puts network and systems management, desktop and server management, intrusion detection, vulnerability scanning, bandwidth analysis and asset management into an appliance with one interface.

The appliance can manage up to 250 desktops, 25 servers, and 25 network devices.

For health care organizations with larger networks, Oculan’s Distributed Appliance Suite provides the same functionality and value as the Oculan 250.
