UNC Health Care System is using web-based reporting from Redwood Software to improve the speed, accuracy and efficiency in handling patient records.

Redwood, which is based in the Netherlands and has its US headquarters in Morrisville, says its Report2Web has been in use by the UNC system since February. The software, which is Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) compliant, also is now used in finance and patient relations, having reduced errors and lowered administrative costs, according to Redwood.

“The key benefits of the Report2Web system include the opportunity to increase employee productivity associated with healthcare administration and improve management’s access to timely financial information. This has been an effective implementation that has returned value very quickly” said J.P. Kichak, UNC Health Care chief information officer, in a statement. “Results show this paperless process has reduced our administrative costs and improved access to financial reports and hospital information. By streamlining our business operations, we can continue to improve healthcare delivery in our community.”
