Visara International, a provider of network computing solutions, has joined the Microsoft Windows Embedded Partner (WEP) Program.
Visara says its customers and partners will benefit from this partnership immediately with the availability of the Visara eTerm 300, eTerm 360 and eTerm 760 Thin Client products with embedded Microsoft Windows CE Operating System.
Thin clients are small devices that replace desktop and laptop computers for easy, low-cost access to the Internet and most applications.
The idea behind thin-client computing is to centralize computing power, storage, applications and data on servers. Users connect to the servers from single-purpose devices, multimedia machines or home computers.
The eTerm 300, 360 and 760 CE .Net-based suite of thin client products offers designs such as a PC style “Windows desktop” interface, host emulation suite and server-based network device management.
The Visara eManager network management platform provides administrative tools designed to maximize network efficiencies and offer functionality to network administrators and help support technicians.
The Microsoft WEP Program is focused on providing partnering and co-marketing opportunities to companies delivering products, services, or solutions based on Microsoft Windows Embedded platforms.
As a WEP partner, Visara says it will gain access to numerous marketing benefits, such as brand awareness, market exposure and technical benefits like pre-released software.
Headquartered in RTP, Visara has an installed base of over two million networked desktop devices and has offices throughout North America and internationally.
