RALEIGH–Telecommunications carrier BTI will cut about 300 jobs in Raleigh over the next two years, the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
The paper says BTI’s chief financial officer, Jay Braukman, will tell workers about the job cuts at a special meeting today.
Braukman told the Observer the telecommunications carrier will eventually reduce local jobs to about 200.
At today’s meeting in Raleigh, Braukman also plans to update the company’s workers on BTI’s $138 million merger with ITC-DeltaCom, announced in July and expected to close in October.
