Linksys, the provider of wireless networking gear for home and small networks, is incorporating interoperability with Intel’s new Centrino mobile chip technology.

Linksys, now a division of Cisco, and Intel said testing is underway to verify compatibility of the Centrino chips and Linksys gear.

Linksys verified products to work with Centrino chips in laptop computers should be available by year’s end. The companies said the Centrino chips will detect the Linksys networks and configure them for use with the Centrino chip “with minimal effort by the end user.”
