Customers looking for higher speed than dialup Internet and lower cost that standard DSL now can consider “DSL Lite” from BellSouth.
The service offers five times faster access than dialup, which isn’t as fast as DSL, but the cost ($35) also is less. The “Lite” service offers downloads of 256 kbps and uploads of 128 kbps, which are similar to speeds offered by an older technology called ISDN.
The “Lite” service utilizes existing phone lines and includes five e-mail accounts as well as 10 megabytes of storage.
