RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. … Raindrop Geomagic has reached an agreement with Canada-based Creaform to distribute Geomagic Studio reverse-engineering software to its customers in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Creaform is a leading technology and service provider for laser scanning, reverse engineering and 3-D inspection. The company also serves as the North American technical and integration center for Kreon Technologies, maker of the Zephyr laser scanning system.

“Raindrop Geomagic seeks out partners that are proven leaders in design and engineering services,” Vice President of Worldwide Sales Jim Johnson said in a statement. “Creaform’s expertise in integrating laser scanning with digital design technologies will be valuable in helping us expand the Geomagic user base.”

Geomagic software automatically processes scan data from a physical part to generate highly accurate polygon and CAD surface models. It enables manufacturers to move easily between the physical part or mold and its digital model, resulting in greater speed, accuracy and reliability.
