COLUMBIA, S.C. …Â Sprint (NYSE: FON, PCS) has signed a three-year communications services agreement with LogicSouth, a network solutions provider that provides integrated high-speed data services to small and medium sized businesses in underserved suburban and semi-rural markets in South Carolina.
The deal comes about two months after Sprint announced the expansion of its business sales force across South Carolina. Through the agreement, Sprint will provide network access to LogicSouth’s broadband and integrated high-speed data services.
“The local Sprint employees really understood what we were looking for to enhance our services for our local small businesses and individual customers,” Taylor Jones, general manager of LogicSouth, said in a statement. “Their industry knowledge, friendly demeanor and great advice made Sprint the easy choice when it came to deciding which company would provide our backbone access.”
In late April, Sprint announced the opening of new sales offices in Greenville/Spartanburg, Columbia and Charleston. With a stronger presence in South Carolina, Sprint is able to better understand and serve companies in South Carolina.
“We are excited about our relationship with LogicSouth,” Lance Behymer, regional sales director of Sprint Business, said in a statement. “Local relationships like this one are very important to Sprint, even though we are an international company. Our expansion in the South Carolina market will provide customers with access to our state-of-the-art network.”
In addition to the new sales focus in South Carolina, Sprint has stated that it expects to invest some $10 million this year in South Carolina on local telephone service projects to continue providing customers with high-quality voice and data service and to deploy new communication technologies. A significant portion of that investment also will be in fiber-optic related projects.
