After a slow first quarter, North Carolina has rebounded over the past three months to maintain the pace set last year for venture capital activity.

Thirty-four technology companies in the state have attracted about $165 million in venture capital through the first half of the year. At this point a year ago, 28 deals had been completed for a combined $168 million.

The latest deal involved Bright View Technologies, a rear-projection television screen firm in Chapel Hill, which obtained a $2 million first round.
