DULUTH, Ga. … Hitachi Telecom (USA) and coaXmedia have signed an agreement to provide broadband Internet access to the hospitality industry worldwide using coaXmedia’s patented Series 6100 delivery system through Hitachi’s certified distribution network.

coaXmedia’s technology enables high-speed broadband services to be rapidly and cost effectively deployed in a hotel without expensive rewiring. By using the existing television cable infrastructure, coaXmedia delivers broadband throughout the property without interfering with the CATV, video on demand, satellite services or PBX operation.

“The system is cost effective, easy to deploy and simple for guests to use,” Yogi Rawal, director of sales and marketing for Hitachi Telecom, said in a statement. “We are excited about entering the market with coaXmedia, an innovative and proven leader in broadband access technology. Future product releases, that will include VoIP integration with a soft switch or PBX technology, will extend the Hitachi product portfolio for hoteliers.”

Lynn Agnes, vice president of global sales and marketing for coaXmedia, said in the statement, “Our technology was designed specifically to enable hotels with an economical, guest-friendly and robust system for high speed Internet access. Our partnership with Hitel, a world class hotel focused PBX manufacturer, helps us deliver that message.”
