Kenny McDonald, a senior vice president for the Albuquerque Economic Development group, is the Charlotte Regional Partnership’s new vice president for economic development.

Michael Almond, president and chief executive officer of the CRP, announced the addition at the group’s annual meeting.

McDonald was a consultant in Greenville, SC, before moving to New Mexico. He also worked for the Savannah Economic Development Authority as a project manager.

“Kenny not only has an extremely successful track record in attracting business prospects to a dynamic and growing area,” Almond said in a statement. “He also has established relationships with many of the economic developers in the region, and at the state level in North and South Carolina. Kenny also has extensive contacts with site selection consultants and other economic development professionals across the country. He brings fresh perspective and new energy, along with a keen understanding of our region, its people and its opportunities.”
