N2Broadband and Motorola are introducing “Mpulse”, a service that allows cable operators to offer self-subscribing capability for premium services, this week at a cable TV trade show in Chicago.
Through Mpulse, users can order service through the cable provider’s web site or through an electronic program guide.
N2Broadband said the service should reduce call volume to cable providers from customers seeking new or modifying existing services.
Using Mpulse, a cable subscriber verifies account information through the set top box or cable provider’s web site, information is verified, new service is authorized, and the subscriber’s bill is adjusted automatically.
