Two former senior managers at bankrupt entertainment firm Zoom Culture have joined the leadership team at Trailblazer Studio, a production company based in Raleigh.

Donna Sorenson takes over as vice president of sales and marketing at Trailblazer. Robb Czyzewski is the new controller.

Tom Waring, chief executive officer of Trailblazer, said the hires are part of a commitment to grow the firm.

“Over the last year, we’ve built a talented and unstoppable team that will take our company to the next level,” he said in a statement. “We’re poised to truly change the face of production in the southeast.”

Trailblazer, which has a film and TV development office based in Dallas, has five what it calls “creative botiques”: commercial film, corporate production, animation and FX, music and sound design, as well as post-production.

Sorenson was a vice president at Zoom Culture. She has 25 years in media sales experience, including 13 years with ABC-TV/Disney. She also worked for Times Mirror Corporation, Belo Broadcasting and Murdoch Publications.

Czyzewski was a senior manager at Zoom and previously worked at PlanetPortal and TicketMaster Online-CitySearch where he was new markets director.

Trailblazer offers one of the largest stage facilities in the Southeast.
