Venture capital may not be pouring down in North Carolina, but the steady showers have moved from April well into May.
The state continued its string of at least one deal per week last week, as Wilmington medical device maker TranS1 landed $12 million in its second round.
The deal brings the North Carolina total for venture capital for the year to $117 million in 18 deals. By early May a year ago, the state had seen 24 deals for almost $120 million.
