David McDowell has stepped down as chairman of software and outsourcing firm Per-Se technologies. He held that post since 1996. He had served as chief executive officer from 1996 to 1998.
Philip Pead, president and CEO since 1997, will assume the role as chairman.
McDowell remains a member of the board.
