Carol Alexander, a consultant and author of several books, will serve as a risk adviser to SAS, the company said Tuesday.

Alexander will work for SAS as a consultant and “provide additional direction and guidance to SAS’ product development and strategy team for risk management,” SAS said in a statement. Her primary focus will be on enhancement of existing SAS risk development solutions.

Alexander has been involved in risk management since 1990 and has worked in both academia and the private sector.

“Carol’s thought leadership in risk management will add significant value, both strategic and practical, to the SAS proposition of delivering enterprise-wide risk solutions that help companies understand their exposure to risk,” said Peyman Mestchian, director of management practice for SAS UK, in a statement.
