HICKORY,Hit by a drop in demand from broadband/video customers such as Adelphia and Charter Communications, CommScope reported a $3.1 million loss (5 cents per share) for the first quarter.
CommScope (NYSE: CTV) says sales dropped to $129.4 million, down from $159.8 million a year ago and $135.9 million the previous quarter.
A bright spot was a 15 percent increase, to $23 million, in local area network sales.
