SAS and North Carolina State University have launched a visiting faculty program, with one NCSU professor already working on a full-time basis at SAS.
In what SAS said is the first of a program that will be expanded, David Covington, a professor of technical communication in NCSU’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences, is working with SAS employees.
“Professor Covington will bring outside expertise and years of academic research and theoretical knowledge to bear on SAS projects,” said Kathy Council, vice president of publications for SAS and a member of the board of advisors for the College of Humanities, “and in turn, he will be able to return to the classroom with a good working knowledge of the technology and workplace at SAS that he can pass on to his students, who are possible future employees.”
