Alex Pinchev, who most recently served as chief executive officer and founder of MainControl Inc., has joined Red Hat as president for international operations.
Pinchev will be responsible for sales and service delivery for Red Hat offerings outside of North America, Red Hat (Nasdaq: RHAT) said.
Pinchev ran MainControl, which was based in McLean, VA, for seven years and developed relationships with Global 2000 customers, consulting and software firms, systems integrators and OEM partners.
Red Hat has made enterprise services and sales the major thrust of its sales and development efforts.
“International expansion is a key corporate objective,” said Matthew Szulik, Red Hat’s chief executive officer. “Enterprise companies and governments in Europe, Asia and Latin America are realizing the high value, low cost benefits of Red Hat’s solutions. Alex brings a great deal of international experience leading and building global organizations.”
MainControl, a provider of IT-asset management solutions, was acquired earlier this year by MRO Software in a deal worth $3.5 million in cash another $19 million in MRO stock.
“The global opportunities for Red Hat are tremendous as major organizations and governments become acquainted with the value of Red Hat’s open source solutions,” Pinchev said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to maximizing the company’s international growth potential.”
