Duke’s Fuqua School of Business is suffering just as the rest of the economy.

Fuqay laid off five people and won’t fill five other unfilled positions, the school announced Wednesday due to a drop in Duke’s executive MBA and non-degree executive education programs as well as concerns about global travel, according to The Herald-Sun.

“These programs have students who are often sponsored by their employers, and such corporate sponsorship has been significantly reduced,” said Dean Douglas Breeden in a statement quoted by the Durham newspaper.
