Citing increased demand for its Dermabond adhesive, Closure Medical (Nasdaq: CLSR) reported sales of $8.2 million and earnings of $1.9 million, or 14 cents per share, for the first quarter.
Revenues were nearly $3 million higher than the same period a year ago.
Closure stock was up 15 cents to $14.35 in mid-morning trading.
Closure said it also increased gross margins to 77 percent, up from 69 percent.
The company expects similar results for the second quarter.
