Agilent EEsof EDA, a supplier of electronic design information software, is the latest addition to Yamacraw, the Georgia state development initiative focused on broadband technologies communication design.

Agilent EEsof is part of Agilent Technologies, which builds software tools for communications equipment.

According to its web site, Yamacraw has 27 member companies, has commitments for more than 3,000 jobs, has facilitated the hiring of an additional 64 faculty members at affiliated universities, and has increased the number of electrical and computer engineering, computer science and software engineering graduates.

Yamacraw is the name of the area on the Savannah River where the first English settlement was established in Georgia in 1732.
