After a search dating back to last year, Peopleclick named a new chief executive officer this morning.

Stephen Sasser, who served as president and chief executive officer at Frontstep, Inc., took over the reins at Peopleclick this week. Peopleclick provides workforce management solutions.

Sasser replaces Ken Holec, who has served as CEO on an interim basis since January of last year. Holec will remain a member of Peopleclick’s board of directors.

Holec, who had commuted weekly to Raleigh from his home in Minneapolis, was named interim CEO after the resignation of Curt Witte. Witte had resigned for personal reasons.

Sasser brings to Peopleclick more than 25 years of experience with a number of firms. Frontstep was acquired recently by Mapics, which is based in Atlanta. Frontstep was a provider of a variety of software products. He also has worked at Trilogy Software, Legent Corporation, Goal Systems International and UCCEL Corporation.

“Steve Sasser will leverage his proven track record to execute Peopleclick’s vision, accelerate growth and unlock tremendous value for our customers, employees, strategic partners and investors,” said Ron Kupferman, chairman of Peopleclick’s board, in a statement.
