DULUTH,ARRIS, a broadband local access and telephony services provider, says it has successfully tested voice over Internet Protocol systems on cable networks.
ARRIS says the 52 trials demonstrate the ability to deliver packet-based services over cable.
“For the remainder of 2003 and beyond, ARRIS intends to continue interoperability testing with leading packet cable-based equipment vendors and expects to covert several of the current trials into full scale commercial deployments,” says Bob Eng, director of network solutions for ARRIS.
