Research Triangle Software’s CryptoBuddy encryption software program has met requirements set by the federal government under forthcoming HIPAA regulations, the company said Wednesday.
The Healthcare Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, which was passed in 1996, requires encryption and protection of individual health records.
RTS said it has met the requirements as spelled out in the Federal register recently. HIPAA takes effect in April.
