A new study by the consulting firm META group says that slumping employee morale poses a threat to many information technology companies.
Some 71 percent of IT managers surveyed for META’s annual staffing and compensation guide said burnout is a serious issue.
To address the problem, 55 percent of those companies surveyed have launched skill development programs and 24 percent have created what they called “better overall retention programs.”
Among other steps being taken were: raising salaries, 11 percent; hiring more staff, 11 percent; offering cash incentives, 8 percent.
