People shopping for cars soon will have a virtually seamless link to look for lower-cost financing.

LendingTree.com (Nasdaq: TREE), the fast-growing online home lending exchange site, announced Monday a partnership with AutoTrader.com. In the deal, LendingTree will be linked to the AutoTrader site, and prospective car buyers can fill out an online form for a loan. Various lenders will consider the applications just as they do at LendingTree.com and offer competing rates.

Customers also will have access to LendingTree.com for home loans, personal loans, mortgages and credit cards.

AutoTrader.com, which has its headquarters in Atlanta, has a database of more than 2.2 million cars with listings from 46,000 dealers and 250,000 individuals.
